Rules-of-Origin & Corridor Readiness Test
Screen whether your exports can capture the AfCFTA tariff saving and settle in local currency through PAPSS — and get a plain answer if they cannot.
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Salaries, names, TINs and every other figure you enter are calculated on your own device and are never sent to us, never saved on our servers, and never stored by this site. Close the tab and they are gone. Downloads are built in your browser too, so they do not pass through us either.
Results are for guidance. Confirm against the current GRA and SSNIT rules, or ask us, before you file or pay on them.
1Is your product wholly obtained in one African country?
Grown, mined, harvested, born and raised, or produced entirely from materials from a single AfCFTA member state — with no imported inputs at all.
2Does processing change the tariff heading?
Compare the HS code of your imported inputs with the HS code of your finished product. A change at the four-digit heading level is one of the recognised routes to origin.
3The value test
Enter figures for one representative unit or one typical shipment, in any single currency. Ex-works price is your price at the factory gate, before freight and insurance.
Indicative thresholds: AfCFTA commonly looks for around 40% value added (or imported materials not exceeding about 60% of the ex-works price). The ECOWAS scheme commonly looks for about 30%. Product-specific rules override both.
4Documentation and corridor
Can you evidence the origin of your inputs — supplier declarations, invoices, bills of materials — going back through your supply chain?
Do you and your buyer both bank with institutions connected to PAPSS?
